Western Theatrical Canon and Aesthetics

Theatre has long been regarded as the core of aesthetic education. As the stage is the microcosm of human world, this course approaches aesthetics topics through the dramas such as Prometheus Bound, The Tempest, The Crucible and Amadeus, ect. By means of probing into the issues as related to the human world, this course stresses logical validity as well as literary and aesthetic qualities in these dramas.
